FPS Character Animation
A downloadable game
This prototype is part of my Bachelor's Degree in Game Design. I'm focusing character animation and ways to convey personality of a character using animation from the first person perspective.
For the project I did the character design, modeling, rigging, animation and animation implementation, as well as the testing range. I also did most of the VFX. As a project base I used the FPS Creator Kit by Unity.
How do you convey personality with only your hands? A huge part of the character animators’ job is to show who the character is and what drives them. In first-person games however, there are several restrictions to what the animator can achieve. Between utilizing the animation principles and ensuring a good gameplay experience it is no easy task to convey personality from a first-person view. This project utilizes guidelines that aim to help the animator achieve this goal.
